For Adults Without a Permit - Permit Prep Classes and Testing

• 4 Hour Driver Awareness with Permit Test ($89)

  Driver Awareness   

   
  A four-hour minimal instruction program, designed to qualify students for their learner's permit.  Contains abbreviated lessons taught in our Classroom Course, but should not be considered the equivalent of a comprehensive driver's education program.  Students should review the Colorado Driver's Handbook prior to class. Includes permit test.  This class will often qualify for adults who need to reduce their points.  Discuss this with a DriveSafe manager. Class dates and locations are listed on all class schedules. Note locations since they vary.

  After completing the class and obtaining your valid permit you can begin behind the wheel lessons with our professional instructors. This program can be combined with any of our behind the wheel driver training programs.

• Written Permit Test for Adults ($29)

   

  Written Permit Test

  The permit test is included for free in our Driver Awareness program, but anyone wishing a permit test only is welcome to take it at a DriveSafe center for only $25. This is a single test fee. If you fail this test the first time, you can retake the test that same day or return another day at an additional $25 fee. You can only take the permit test with us two times; the third test MUST be taken at the DMV.

   

For Adults with a Valid Permit or License - Behind the Wheel Driver Training

• Adult Behind the Wheel Training ($399)

   

  A great program for adults who are interested in learning or improving their driving skills.   Excellent preparation for the driver's license test.

  ·         Six hours of behind-the-wheel training includes three 2-hour in-car sessions that focus on car control and fundamental driving skills, advancing into more complex driving that requires decision-making and risk management skills. The driving instructor will provide recommendations on additional training and feedback on whether the student is ready for their driver’s licensing test.

  ·         Also includes the Driver's License Test at our location in a friendly and familiar environment. Drive tests are by appointment only.

  To make this program more convenient combine it with our Home Pickup program.

   

• Adult Behind the Wheel Safe Driver Training ($579)

   

  Excellent program that prepares adults who have little or no driving experience to be safe drivers.   Behind-the-wheel training for everyday driving and more extreme situations.  Includes Defensive Skills Day and Driver’s License Test.  (This program is valuable for adults who have moved to the United States from a foreign country but are well-versed in Colorado traffic laws.)This program includes:

  ·         Six hours of driver training including three 2-hour behind-the-wheel training sessions focused on car control and fundamental driving skills, advancing according to the student's abilities to more complex driving that requires decision-making and risk management skills.  The driving instructor will provide recommendations on additional training and feedback on whether the student is ready for their driver’s licensing test.

  ·         Defensive Skills Day where you learn life-saving skills such as skid control, emergency stopping, accident avoidance and more in a controlled parking lot setting .

  ·         The Driver's License Test at our location in a friendly and familiar environment.

  To make this program more convenient combine it with our Home Pickup program.

   

• Adult Ultimate Behind the Wheel Driver Training ($899)

   

  The Ultimate in adult driver training with 12 hours on in-car driving instruction, specialized defensive skills training and a drive test.  This is an excellent program for adults who have little or no driving experience or are anxious behind-the-wheel.   A comprehensive program to  prepare you to be a very safe driver behind-the-wheel for everyday driving and more complex situations.  This program is especially valuable for adults who have moved to the United States from a foreign country with different laws and environments. This program includes:

  ·         Twelve hours of driver training including six 2-hour behind-the-wheel training sessions focused on car control and fundamental driving skills, advancing according to the student's abilities to more complex driving that requires decision-making and risk management skills. 

  ·         Defensive Skills Day training in a controlled parking lot setting where you will learn life-saving skills such as skid control, emergency stopping, accident avoidance and more. 

  ·         The driving instructor will provide recommendations on additional training and feedback on whether the student is ready for their driver’s licensing test.

  ·         Also includes the Driver's License Test at our location in our friendly and familiar environment.

• Adult Behind the Wheel 2 ($129)

   

  Two Hours Behind the Wheel                                                                                 

  New drivers benefit from additional driving instruction to prepare them for driving alone.  Instruction can be environment or situation specific like city, mountain, or highway driving. Do you want your student to learn to drive at night, in the snow or rain?

  Perfect  for adults who need to refresh their driving skills. Have you been experiencing difficulties in certain situations or been through a traumatic driving experience?

  Two-hours of instruction is one-on-one with a professional instructor. Some students even use the lesson to prepare for the driving test or learn how to drive a manual (stick shift) transmission. 

  The drive will be tailored to the needs of the student.

  Greater Value Tip:  Drives can always be purchased in two-hour increments; however there is a price break if you purchase the Behind the Wheel Six program as a three drive package.

  For Manual Transmission training we recommend students complete the six hours in an automatic vehicle and then add at least one two hour stick drive to focus on learning how to integrate shifting the vehicle into their driving skill. There is an additional fee for all stick shift drive lessons. Call our Managers to discuss stick training.

   

Behind The Wheel Training

• One Hour Special Focus Drive ($79)

  Need help with night driving? Unsure about mountain driving challenges? Need to parallel park or want an introduction to a stick shift vehicle?

  A one hour driving lesson with a professional driver's education instructor can polish up skills, focus on a specific driving need such as parallel parking, work on challenges in a certain driving environment or even prep for skills tested on the driver's test.

  Manual transmission training is available at an additional fee on the one hour drive. However, we recommend at least a two hour lesson for a student interested in learning to drive a stick shift. We also recommend that they already know how to drive before learning the stick.  Call our Managers to discuss stick training and the additional cost. 

  Value Tip: Our Behind the Wheel Two gives you two hours of training for only an additional $50.

   

Drive Tests

• Driver's License Test ($65)

  Drive Test

  Take your Driver's Test with us! Students and adults can complete the drive test portion of their licensing at any one of our conveniently located Centers. The benefits for you are convenience (we have Centers located throughout the metropolitan area), often little to no wait time for scheduling (most tests can be scheduled within 24 hours at one of our Centers) and a non-stressful environment.  We are friendly and provide great customer service!

  Drive tests are scheduled by appointment. Our fee covers a single drive test. If you need to re-take your test you will need to purchase another one. (Note: Payment must be made in advance with credit card or cash only.)
  

• Behind the Wheel Two Plus Drive Test ($189)

   

  Two hour, one-on-one behind the wheel driving lesson with a professional driving instructor in a DriveSafe vehicle. This instruction is perfect for adults or teens who need to refresh their driving skills before the driving test.  The Driver’s Test in Colorado tests for over 100 items that most experienced drivers need to relearn. With a solid foundation you will then take your Driver's Test with one of our State Certified Testers. Customers love the option of testing at DriveSafe because it is less stressful, friendlier and faster than testing at a DMV office. Use your vehicle or ours (with no additional fee).

   

  Our Driver's License Test fee covers a single test. If you need to retest you will be charged an additional fee. Drive tests are scheduled by appointment only. 
• Driver's License Test Refresher Behind the Wheel and Drive Test ($139)

  Perfect for adults or teens who need to refresh their driving skills before the driving test. The Driving Test in Colorado covers over 100 items which many seasoned drivers do not recall. A one-hour skills refresher identifies driving habits that are in violation of testing regulations and reviews the finer points of the rules of the road.

  After your one-hour refresher drive, take your Driver's Test with one of our State Certified Testers. Customers love the option of testing at DriveSafe because it is less stressful, friendlier and faster than testing at a DMV office. Use your vehicle or our ours (with no additional fee).
